The historic Maumee Valley Hospital located in Toledo, Ohio, was owned by Lucas County since it was first built in the early 1930s.  After being vacant since 1984, Lucas County requested proposals for the rehabilitation of the hospital in 1997 and ultimately selected ACD as its preferred developer.  In 2000 ACD completed its renovation of the former hospital into an affordable elderly housing complex.  The letter pictured below was presented to The Lakewoods and American Community Developers, Inc. by the Ohio House of Representatives at the Lakewoods grand opening on May 22nd, 2000.
